Response to Globalization
To present the strategy of the city of Tokyo in the 21st century on the global stage, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government drew up “Tokyo in the Next Decade” in December 2006. It aims at dynamic development through collaboration and solidarity with various Asian cities. Part of the scheme involves strategically developing and supporting people who will play a leadership role in the future of Asia.
Taking these points into consideration, the school is accepting foreign students mainly from Asia to ensure that the school takes responsibility for promoting industry in Tokyo through the development of high-level specialists.
Based on mutual agreement with overseas universities, the school will also make an effort to enhance education research activities, such as through the joint implementation of PBL.
About the Asian Human Network Databank
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Metropolitan University have established the Asian Human Network Databank from School Year 2008 to provide information to graduate school students attending the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (AIIT) from abroad.
- The Asian Human Network Databank is an enterprise for the establishment of a network of public officials from the cities that have taken part in training courses conducted by The Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) and the foreign students attending Tokyo Metropolitan University and the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (AIIT).
- In addition to regular publication of the web magazine Asia Tsushin, it compiles the materials used in the training courses conducted by ANMC21, as well as the basic information on each city.
- Using a mailing list of specific professional areas, it exchanges information among registrants, and using the Human Network Databank, it introduces people to the various operations conducted by each city.
- To register with the Human Network Databank, please fill in an application and submit it to the school office.
